Brand Guides

A brand guide is where a company decides who it is and how it sounds. On each of these projects, I wrote all of the content, from the brand story and values to the audience profiles and voice and tone, based on my conversations with the client. A designer took care of the visual side: logo, color, type, and imagery.

Cannaboros

The brand

Cannaboros is a cannabis brand from New York’s Capital District. Its name comes from the Ouroboros, the ancient symbol of a serpent eating its own tail, and the idea of renewal that comes with it. The brand sees cannabis as an invitation to slow down and reflect, and it wants to grow alongside local artists and socially conscious voices.

What I wrote

  • Our story: where the name comes from and the idea behind it
  • Mission and vision
  • Five brand values, from Renewal to Community First
  • Brand personality and tone of voice, including what the brand is not
  • Core audience and the brand’s two-way relationship with its community

A line from the guide

If Cannaboros were a person, they would be the friend who reads widely, listens to music with intention, supports local artists, and rolls a thoughtful conversation alongside a thoughtful joint.

Intellicastle

The brand

Intellicastle is a digital growth partner for established companies earning $1.5M+ a year that are outgrowing traditional marketing and worried about falling behind on AI. The guide had to position the brand as a premium, human-led partner that explains big changes in plain language.

What I wrote

  • Brand purpose, mission, vision, and values
  • Brand archetype (the Sage meets the Ruler) and personality
  • Brand voice and audience psychographics
  • A brand lexicon of words to use and words to avoid
  • Key messaging, positioning statements, and a sample copy guide
  • Two audience personas: “Legacy Larry” and “Scaling Sarah”

A line from the guide

Powered by data, perfected by people.
